The origin of Global Village Consult could be traced back to 1996 when it started off in Belgium as a research project within the framework of political (social) economy. As independent legal entity, The Global Village carried out assignments for local and central governments as well as the European Commission between 1998 and 2005. Its work centered on socio-economic research, community development, minority rights and pro-poor research and advocacy.
From 2006, Global Village Consult as a brand was developed and it acquired key accounts in diverse business sectors. The brand quickly evolved into a model that provides management services in areas of marketing and market intelligence, corporate strategic assessment, trade advisory and intermediating services to growth oriented enterprises.
The Global Village vzw, registered as a Foundation under Belgian Laws continues to provide structured solutions in the promotion of community development, social cohesion and group empowerment in both Europe and emerging markets. The Foundation is also positioned as a cardinal tool in achieving Corporate Social Responsibility of Global Village Consult.
